Ministries
Growing Oaks Community Church
Ministry is the core of what we are about at Growing Oaks. Everyone has needs. We all want to feel a sense of worth. Our ministry programs are designed to help further your personal walk with Jesus Christ.
He called us to make Disciples worldwide and that is exactly what we want to do.
Whether you are a new Christian, need a deeper understanding of the Word, or just need help getting on your feet we can help.
We have a group of workers who are dedicated and want to help you any way they can.

TWigS
TWIGS (They Will Be Ignited By God's Spirit) is our children's ministry. Children ages 4 - 12 years old have their own time of worship during the 10:30 a.m. adult service each Sunday morning. After praise and worship time with the entire congregation, children are led to an area where they can worship through a lesson taught on their level and enjoy a time of crafts and games.
The purpose of this ministry is to equip them with the knowledge and love they need to show their schools, families, and friends Jesus Christ. There are also planned activities throughout the month for this age group.
We also offer childcare each Sunday morning for our "Nest Children". This age range is from infants to 2 years of age. The workers for this age range know how important it is for parents to be able to leave their children with caregivers who will show God's love to their children so that they may worship worry-free.

DUO (Do Unto Others) is a team of men and women that only desire to serve. This is a unique ministry of Growing Oaks Community Church. The DUO team has a wide range of skills and abilities and has done such projects as raking leaves, chopping fire wood, cleaning gutters, plumbing, even distributing gifts at Christmas. This ministry is successful because of the dedication and time freely given by many people in our church.
DUO also helps maintain the church building. They fix and build anything that the church facility is in need of. This is such a blessing. This ministry is growing and it is so exciting to see people coming together for the glory of God.
We do need help though. We get calls continually from or about people who need help. If you’re reading this you are probably just the person DUO is looking for.

Connection Groups are designed to equip and encourage you in your walk with Christ. These groups consist of anywhere from six to twenty people. Our Connection Groups deal with all kinds of subjects such as: Studying the Bible, Marriage, Parenting, and Christian living.
These groups are a great way to get involved at Growing Oaks.

Disciplines of a Godly Family presents a consistent, creative, loving approach to rearing children. Parents of four and grandparents of eighteen (so far), Kent and Barbara Hughes have plenty of experience using simple, practical ideas to raise a godly family and have fun in the process. They draw deeply from the Bible and their own years of raising children in this warm and intimate book.
Peppered with examples from their loving (but not perfect) family, the Hugheses show that raising children who honor God and others is a task well worth any parent's effort. Chapter topics include establishing a solid family heritage, promoting affection between family members, encouraging godliness in children, using appropriate discipline, and helping children cultivate enriching lifelong habits. The Hugheses also offer tips for fun and affordable family vacations, creating family traditions, and starting a prayer notebook. They even give us a suggested list of books and videos that should be in every family's library.
For those struggling to parent their own children or to equip other parents for this task, a more practical, honest, and common-sense guide will be hard to find.
We have heard Pastor Tommy stress the importance of being men and women of the Word. There is an increased need in the church for a hunger and desire for the Holy Scripture.
Through some awesome experiences, the leadership of GOCC decided that the Word will be the focus of the New Year.

Embrace is the Women's Ministry of Growing Oaks.
Our ministry exists to:
Lead all women into an authentic, personal relationship with Jesus Christ through fellowship with Christian sisters, educational opportunities such as workshops, seminars and conferences. (Deut. 32:2)
The Women's Ministry exists to be a support group for women in the congregation; to create Mentor/Mentee relationships; and be caregivers as the needs arises. (Titus 2:3-5)
Through education the women's ministry will nurture and grow the congregation as a whole into a family of believers who will be equipped to carry out the Great Commission.
(Proverbs 31:31)
